Galatean Collies is the team of Rose & Mary Robischon. Let us tell you a little bit about how the Collie has changed our lives. In the early 1970s we were visiting relatives in New Hampshire. On the very first visit, a tri-color Collie came bounding down to us trying to steer (herd) us back to our relatives' home. When we arrived at our relatives' home, we were told that this Collie was named Rex and he belonged to a family up the hill. We quickly found out that Rex was an abused dog who slept outside his owners' home in a hole and was fed infrequently. Rex followed us everywhere that summer. When we left to go back to school and work, our relatives told us all Rex would do is mope around. To make a long story short, we purchased Rex from his previous owner. Rex was so happy to come home with us and we were elated to have him! Unfortunately during a health check, we found out that Rex had heartworm. His treatment was successful but he died of an embolism just before we were to bring him home. We were devastated--Rex had only been with us for nine months.
On our way to New Hampshire, we passed a sign for CarlRuth Collies. After Rex's passing we called Mr. & Mrs. Holton to see if they had a puppy. During the summer of 1974 we brought home Lisa (a tri-color) and David (a blue merle). These two dogs were amazing Collies who introduced us to the world of conformation and obedience events. n Go into detail on your breeding practices, affiliations, time established, and location.
